Travel in your private car with your professional, English-speaking guide to the Danube Valley (the "Wachau"). Wind your way through charming old villages such as Duernstein, where King Richard Lionheart was imprisoned while waiting for his ransom to arrive from England. Enjoy a romantic boat trip on the Danube river, before stopping in Krems, the heart of the Wachau and the region's wine center.

You will also visit Melk, the "Cradle of Austria" and its magnificent Baroque Benedictine Abbey. Finally, you will see Sandgrube 13, a new way to experience wine in Austria. The one-hour visit includes a discovery tour of wine in the vineyard, in the cellar, in the glass, on film and in art. End the day with a wine-tasting.
